First year, second time around!
I began teaching during the fall of 2003 at Henryetta Middle School, teaching 8th grade and 7th grade Pre-Algebra and 6th grade Social Studies and Indian Culture. I also taught Summer Driver’s Education.
In the fall of 2006 I took my first coaching job at Hanna High School, coaching the JH girls basketball team along with the HS Boys basketball team. While at Hanna, I taught 7th grade math, 8th grade math, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry.
Two years later, I came home to Schulter Public Schools to coach the Elementary, JH, and HS Boys basketball teams as well as the HS baseball team. While teaching at Schulter the first time, I taught JH level math and Algebra I. I also taught Oklahoma History, Government, Sociology, 8th grade History, 7th grade Geography, and one year of 4th grade Science. During the summers I taught Driver’s Education.
After four years, I left and moved to Atoka so that my wife and I could take care of her father. After three years, I drove tractor trailers for the oilfield industry. I transported liquids and hauled oil field tools on flat bed trailers.
I entered back into the education field in the fall of 2015, going to work at Krebs Public School as the Elementary basketball coach and JH baseball coach, teaching 8th grade Science, Personal Financial Literacy, and Life Skills. After two years, I was given the JH boys basketball team, along with my elementary teams, and also created the Archery Program. This past year I taught 8th grade US History and 7th Eastern Hemisphere Geography.
I am a widower after losing my wife to metastatic breast cancer in January of 2018.
I have four children, Naomi, Sarah, Malachi, and Levi, Naomi, Sarah, and Malachi will be attending Schulter this year with me.
We have two dogs, both Rough Collies. Our Tri-Color male’s name is Jagger. Our White female’s name is Kota.
I’m an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and the Oklahoma City Thunder. I root for all Oklahoma based college teams as well.
I love to read, sing, and when I have time, sometimes I draw. I also like to hunt and fish, although I haven’t had a whole lot of time doing that lately.
Most importantly, I love spending time with my family and my church family.
